Pew Hispanic Center issues report re impact of immigrants at the state level on employment of native-born workers

Rapid increases in the foreign-born population at the state level are not associated with negative effects on the employment of native-born workers, according to a study by the Pew Hispanic Center that examines data during the boom years of the 1990s and the downturn and recovery since 2000. No consistent pattern emerges to show that native-born workers suffered or benefited from increased numbers of foreign-born workers. The study was released Tuesday.
