Vermont is first state to establish "low profit" corporate entity

The Vermont legislature recently approved the country's first "low profit" limited liability corporation statute, which seeks to blend features of for profit and non-profit corporations. Here's a link to the legislation as it was proposed:

Some expect an outcome of the law is that nonprofit organizations will seek to incorporate under Vermont law, much like many for-profit corporations seek to incorporate in Delaware because of some features of Delaware corporate law.
