Screen shot of remote authentication added to shared drive

I've added a Powerpoint slide of a screen shot of the Newman Library remote authenication to the IS information on the shared drive. It is in Instructional Materials and in the folder Powerpoint presentations. It is labeled remoteauthentication01142008. I'm talking to some incoming MBA students this afternoon and thought this would be helpful when I talk about accessing the library's resources off campus. Rita

Actually, you can bring up the actual remote authentication page anytime you want from on campus or off campus. Just type in "remote.baruch.cuny.edu" in the browser address box. (If you're reading this blog comment now, you can just click this direct link to the remote authentication page.)

FYI: If you go to this page while on campus and put the authentication information in (Baruch username for students or library ID number for staff and faculty), you can then test to see if that login info works or not. If you get a very plain looking page titled "Databases Menu" that gives links to all of our databases, then the login succeeded. On the other hand, if you get this message in red, then the login info you entered failed for some reason: "Sorry, There was an authentication error during login. Please try again."
